This is a chance for you, the patient, to fully express your concerns and goals, and help me understand you as a whole person. This comprehensive intake allows me to create a treatment plan uniquely tailored to your health and wellness needs. Additional testing may be recommended if necessary to complete the assessment.

~ follow up Visits ~
Subsequent follow up visits give us an opportunity to go through the results of any lab tests ordered, check in on progress, expand on your individualized treatment plan, and discuss short and long term goals and strategies. Their purpose is to support your evolution towards optimal health and typically occur 2-4 weeks apart depending on the intensity of the treatment plan and your individual needs. These appointments are opportunities to check in on progress, answer any questions and adjust your treatment plan to suit your wellness needs.

Why No Insurance
You may be wondering, why our clinic does not bill insurance directly when other medical and Naturopathic providers do. We fully understand the financial challenge this presents to some patients. Below is an explanation as to why we choose not to align with the insurance model.
When clinics bill health insurance companies directly, the doctors are required to become participating providers. The doctors must sign a contract that allows the insurance company to determine which services they will and will not provide and how much they can charge for those services. In general, insurance companies are not focused on any preventive or wellness services. The models that insurance companies use for qualifying treatments are based on allopathic algorithms that mostly end with a pharmaceutical drug as the treatment of choice. I am committed to traditional Naturopathic medicine that addresses the underlying causes of your symptoms, not just suppressing them, and working with you to support nutritional and lifestyle enhancements. Insurance companies do not pay for, or pay appropriately, for these services. A healthcare provider participating with insurance companies must agree to accept the fees the insurance company establishes, regardless of whether the fees are reasonable or applicable to that practice. Most doctors and clinics cope with insurance requirements by keeping their office visits very brief. In today’s healthcare environment, the actual cost for doctors to provide services continues to rise, while the percentage of reasonable fees that insurance payments cover is declining, especially for Naturopathic medicine. I can provide super-bills for my services so that the patient can seek reimbursement through their insurance if they so wish.
Naturopathic medicine is all about removing barriers to health, and if the financial cost is a barrier for you, please reach out to me directly! I maintain a specific number of spots each year for those with financial hardship to pay on a sliding scale.
If you are not getting better under the pharmaceutical medical model of today, schedule a visit. People with all kinds of issues, illnesses and conditions come to get results. My practice is called Mountain Roots Naturopathic Medicine, because I believe our work is always a journey back to the roots of disease and suffering in order to let go and heal.
